Because many clients have told Giselle Gonzales that “she has the touch,” it was an easy decision for her to open a massage therapy and skin-care business in Lannon.
After working at another salon for five years, she took the risk to start her own business, she said.
She recently opened Giselle’s Beauty & Wellness inside of Bellezza Salon, 20481 W. Main St.

She said she plans to do full body waxings, facials, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion and chemical peels.
According to the shop’s website, giselles-beauty-wellness.square.site, dermaplaning removes all dead skin cells while also removing vellus hair, also known as peach fuzz, which lessens fine lines and wrinkles.
Microdermabrasion helps to even out skin tones and texture and diminishes the appearance of acne scars and hyperpigmentation, according to Giselle’s Beauty & Wellness website.
“I always knew I wanted to be in the health and beauty field, and once I went to beauty school, it opened my eyes to more that’s out there. I also love holistic and alternative ways of healing and through massages, I can do that,” Gonzales said.
“I just love making people feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin and body,” she said.
She also said that one of the unique treatments she offers is the incorporation of gua sha in the massages.
Gua sha is a scraping of the chin to stimulate blood circulation to release toxins from the muscles and the body, and it increases energy flow, according to Healthline, a health and beauty website.
“People may like it because it is holistic medicine, promotes faster healing to troubled areas and is noninvasive,” Gonzales said.
She added that she may want to add cupping therapy in the future. She said that cupping is an ancient alternative medicine in which special cups are placed on the client’s skin for a few minutes to create suction.
“People get it (cupping) for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being and as a type of deep-tissue (healing),” she explained.
She said she is looking forward to meeting more people in Lannon and becoming involved in the “close-knit” community.
The business is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every other Saturday.
